The 2022 Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Award application and communication materials are posted on the Zonta International website and Zonta International District 4 website https://zontadistrict4.org/building-our-clubs/committee-resources/awards-education/young-women-in-public-affairs/.

The goal of the YWPA Award program is to recognize young women aged 16 to 19 attending school and who demonstrate leadership and active commitment to local or student government or volunteerism.

The application process starts at the local Zonta club level with clubs setting their own club deadline to receive applications.  To be considered for the District 4 YWPA Award, the application of a Zonta club winner must be submitted to the D4 Awards Committee by April 1 along with the Cover Sheet – Clubs.  Completion of the Cover Sheet ensures the application meets all of the submission requirements.  Full details of the application requirements are posted on the websites.

Submission of the club winner application by the April 1 deadline to [email protected] is critical to ensuring that all candidates receive a fair evaluation by the District 4 Awards Committee.

Incomplete or late applications submitted by clubs will not be considered by the District 4 Awards Committee.  Deadline timeframes do not allow for follow up with clubs.  The Awards Committee must submit the District YWPA winner to the District Governor to meet the Zonta International May 1 deadline.

District YWPA winners receive $1,500 US and there are ten Zonta International YWPA Awards offered of $5,000 US each.  The District and Zonta International YWPA awards are funded through your donations to the Zonta Foundation for Women YWPA program.  Zonta members and their family are not eligible to apply for the YWPA Award.

For questions about the YWPA program, please contact the District 4 Awards Committee by email at [email protected].
