Treasurer Reva Lowry and member Barb Diehl presented Nichols with the check.

A chartered member of the Zonta Club of the Corry Area won the club’s annual car/cash raffle this past December.

Patsy Nichols won $10,000 in the annual drawing, which was held virtually for the second year in a row.

Nichols is a charter member of the Zonta Club of the Corry Area, which was chartered on May 31, 1980.

Members of the Zonta club sell a total of 225 raffle tickets at $100 a ticket each year. Nichols sells about 75 of those.

She also supports the club in various other ways, such as financially and providing food for the raffle dinner.

This was the 31st year the club has sponsored the drawing.

Nichols, who is retired as Corry’s magisterial district judge, has paid out at least $6,200 for tickets over the years.

But she had never won the grand prize drawing – until now.

She said she would probably use the money to pay her income taxes.
