A reminder to District 4 Zonta clubs that their club winning application must meet all submission requirements and be received by April 1 to [email protected].
Incomplete or late applications submitted by clubs will not be considered by the District 4 Awards Committee.
The YWPA application process starts at the local Zonta club level. An applicant cannot submit their YWPA application directly to District 4 Awards.
Club Presidents please ask your club Awards Committee to complete the YWPA Application Cover Sheet for Zonta Clubs and have the form signed by you. The Cover Sheet can be found on the District 4 website here https://zontadistrict4.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2022-YWPA-Application-Cover-Sheet-Clubs.pdf.
The Cover Sheet is a tool for clubs to ensure that YWPA submission requirements have been met by the applicant. A complete application must:
- Be typed, all sections completed, in English and on original forms
- Include verification of school enrollment or letter from employer
- Include two signed recommendation letters
- Be signed by the applicant and
- Essay answers are within the maximum words allowed per question.
The YWPA Award is an excellent program to promote the work of Zonta and introduce Zonta to a new generation. The YWPA Award program recognizes young women aged 16 to 19 who demonstrate leadership and active commitment to local or student government or volunteerism.
District YWPA winners receive $1,500 US and there are ten Zonta International YWPA Awards offered of $5,000 US each. The District and Zonta International YWPA awards are funded through donations to the Zonta Foundation for Women YWPA program.
