Helen Lapp volunteered at a County Congregate Dining Room at the Kenmore Methodist Church. She soon realized there was a need for delivering food to members who could no longer get to the dining room. She began to deliver meals to those people and recognized there was an even larger need for meal delivery. She founded the Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels program and became the first Executive Director.
Each year her legacy is honored through the Helen Lapp Society, which recognizes significant contributors to the Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels over the year. This year the Zonta Club of Kenmore was recognized as a member of the Helen Lapp Society at a Community Event on March 24th.
The Zonta Club of Kenmore is proud to provide assistance to the Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels program and to be recognized as a Helen Lapp Society member.
