Area 3 Director Peggy MeGee-Smith
Peggy has been a dedicated member of the Zonta Club of Kenmore for 14 years.
Peggy has been in a leadership position as an employee of BestSelf, and as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. My extensive experience as a leader under difficult and often demanding circumstances have helped me to develop a calm response to challenges. As a Red Cross responder, I am used to working with individuals from all over the country who have never worked together before and develop them into a cohesive group to deliver services to those effected by disaster. I believe that my unique leadership skills and life experiences can be used to strengthen Zonta Area 3.
Area 4
Area 4 Director Heidi Salva
Heidi has been a dedicated member of District 4 for seven years and is new to the Zonta Club of Cheektowaga-Lancaster.
One of Heidi’s biggest goals is to make Zonta membership more enticing to women of all ages. Membership is aging. We have to be able to attract young professionals who may have small children or timeconsuming work schedules. Zonta isn’t just a social club that meets for dinner and has occasional community projects. We need to have a variety of projects that younger members can participate in either working from home or on weekends. We need to have long term plans. I believe that by planning out projects and listing specific jobs needed, everyone can pick and choose how they are best able to work on projects. I also think that all members need to know they have a voice. We need to hold members to time limits to share thoughts and ideas in order to not have a few member monopolize entire meeting times. Using consent agendas helps streamline meetings. WE need to be more effective in how we utilize our time and celebrate all of our accomplishments.
Area 5
Area 5 Director Rosanna (Rosie) Papalia
Rosie has been a member of the ZC of Jamestown for 17 years.
The 23½ years I’ve been with my company has taught me to be focused on our clients and customers while maintaining the objectives of my position as a producer/editor. It has also taught me to be flexible with consistent change from year to year as the company has downsized, consolidated and merged, and as technology has changed. I have learned how to be selfless and adaptable, and to navigate situations where I may not know who is involved and at what capacity. I’ve loved traveling for work – gaining confidence in meeting new people and learning what they do and how I can help them with their advertising objectives and goals. As an Area Director for District 4, all the above has conditioned me to listen, adapt and look for ways to help bring solutions while opening communication and understanding.
