“When I am in contact with my fellow Zontians I always feel a positive energy that they spread! You can feel the power behind and that they have a strong aim to improve the lives of women and girls. That is what inspires me, it is like a fountain of youth and I know we all together can change the world.”
ZI President Sharon Langenbeck

Zonta International President-Elect, Salla Tuominen

Zonta Club of Helsinki 1, District 20
I believe in consistent, well-planned advocacy actions and combining advocacy with related service projects focusing on understanding and addressing the root causes through project goals. My goal is to put more emphasize on long-term strategic planning for Zonta’s focus areas, simplify Zonta’s organization structure, advance effective topical working methods and attract diverse members. Active communication to members, partners, legislators and general public through various communication channels is needed to strenghten the visibility and impact of Zonta’s actions and to attract new members. Motivated members are needed to achieve gender equality and keep Zonta strong in the future.
ZI Director Fernanda-Gallo-Freschi

Zonta International Vice President - Fernanda Gallo-Freschi

Zonta Club of Milano-Sant Ambrogio, Italy, District 28

Membership, challenged by COVID-19 at different speeds by geographical region, is key, and calls for ad-hoc regional strategies, a global diversified and inclusive membership offer and attractive value proposition, enhanced sense of community, as well as simplified governance. While long-established women’s rights are shaken, let’s add boldness to our advocacy: involving more youth, enhancing alliances with peer organizations, facilitating national actions in countries divided in different districts. I strongly support gender-related climate action. Resolutions 2-3 strategic proposals shall not remain theory: next board shall work hard to implement what approved at Convention, to make ZI a more sustainable organization.
