July Update

How does your garden grow? Here’s an update on mine.

Now that we are in the middle of our Zonta break, for some, please update us on how you’re spending your summertime.

District 4 Conference:

The Conference Committee is pleased to be closing conference registration. Currently, we are at 114, with a few follow-ups needed. Thank you for being so patient with the online registration program. It has cost me a few grey hairs, so I understand! We are sold out for the Strewn Winery Dinner and have a waitlist should anyone cancel!

A big high five to club presidents for responding to my request for conference delegates and alternates information. As we get closer to those dates, I’ll send more information about our online Meet the Candidates, speeches, and electronic elections. Check out the members’ conference web page for more information and details.

The Call to Conference has gone out; you can download it here. You will see an overview of the agenda, candidates for our 2024-2026 District 4 Board and Nomination Committee, proposed budget, amendments to our Rules of Procedure and Zonta International Bylaws & Resolutions. I know, fascinating reading for those rainy days!

Congratulations to the Zonta Clubs celebrating anniversaries in July.

Applause for ZC of Bradford on their club’s 70th Anniversary. Even at 70, this club is moving, grooving, and getting new members. Well done, Bradford members!

Applause to the ZC of Oakville on their club’s 50th Anniversary! Looking good members, you continue to rock!

July 30th – World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The need to continue to promote awareness of the scourge of human trafficking doesn’t take a summer vacation.  Post these PSA’s, like this one located on our district website, during the week leading up to July 30thThen SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!   We need to be heard.  Make some noise.

North American Inter-district Meeting

Our district members made it to North American Inter-district Meeting (NAIDM) over the long weekend. Presentations by Kathleen Douglass, Janice Durmis, Jane Newman, Tanya Tagwerker and Julie Brown were widely accepted with outstanding reviews. Thank you for representing our district so well.

Question: What do John Candy and four Canadian District 4 members have in common? Come to the conference and find out!

Zonta Convention Brisbane 2024 Who’s going?

Contact me to add your name to our list. I’m researching the possibility of a group travel rate.

Did you hear the news?

Zonta International Convention 2026 will be held in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and the Convention Chairs are our own Lori Robinson (ZC of Brampton-Caledon). This news was released on July 1 during NADM’s closing ceremony.

Find your Zonta Spirit, or reach out and help someone else find theirs!
