2024 Jane Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

The Jane Klausman Women in Business Scholarship is now available on the www.zonta.org website under the Our Programs Tab.

The Jane Klausman Women in Business Scholarship was established in 1998. Since its inception, Zonta has awarded 750 scholarships, totaling US $2 million dollars to 596 young women from 76 countries. The current award is US $5000 to one candidate from each district.

The program goal is to encourage more young women to pursue degrees in business leading to a   Business Management Career.

Students must be in at least the second year of a college/university/institution to apply. The award can be used for an Undergraduate or a Master’s Program.  

Online students are also eligible to apply.

Reminder:

Club members and individuals with direct membership with Zonta International and employees of Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women, and their family members (ancestors, descendants, adoptees, siblings, nieces or cousins, and those of their spouse or co-habiting partner), are not eligible to apply for ZI Scholarships.

Suggestions for your Club:

  • Review specific requirements for JMK Award. Requirements differ for each award.
  • Select a club due date of July 1st to receive completed applications. This allows your committee time to review applications before submitting one to the district by August 1st.
  • Customize application form with club name, email address, contact person and due date.
  • Essay is limited to 500 words!! Entire application must be typed.
  • Review for completeness, including, but not limited to transcripts, verification of enrollment and references, which must be submitted directly to the club.
  • Submit to the District 4 Governor by the due date: August 1st as a single document with the Cover Sheet signed by your Club President: [email protected]

The Awards Committee encourages clubs to publicize this award including reaching out to local colleges and universities.  We also encourage clubs to post on your website and social media pages.

Note:

Your club is not required to provide a Club scholarship; consider recognizing the applicant at a dinner or event.
