The Zonta Club of Cheektowaga-Lancaster will be kicking off its Fall meetings on Thursday, September 21 with a presentation on “Influential Women in Buffalo During the 19th and 20thCenturies” highlighting our own Marian de Forest and the birth of Zonta International, by local acclaimed author Rick Falkowski. Mr. Falkowski is a presenter for Erie County Dept. of Senior Services University Express, and the coordinator of the Wednesday on the Canal Concerts at Gateway Harbor Park in North Tonawanda. He cofounded the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, the Buffalo Music Awards and was the Publisher of Buffalo Backstage magazine. Mr. Falkowski has published a number of books, and is in demand as a presenter on Buffalo Music and Buffalo Historyat WNY community centers, libraries, historical societies, senior complexes, clubs, and organization.
The Club meets at the Buffalo Airport Hotel, 4600 Genesee St., Cheektowaga NY 14225 (corner of Genesee St. and Holtz Rd.) Social Hour starts at 6:00 PM, with dinner at 6:30 PM. Reservations and pre-pay required. Cost of dinner is $30, payable to the Zonta Club of Cheektowaga-Lancaster. Zonta Cheektowaga-Lancaster Foundation, Inc. – the fundraising arm of the Zonta Club of Cheektowaga-Lancaster will be holding its Annual Trivia Team Nite on Friday, November 3 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 4569 Broadway, (corner of Borden Rd.), Depew NY 14043. Doors open at 5:30 PM, dinner at 6:00 PM, Trivia starts at 7:00 PM. Registration required: $25 per person for teams of 6 – 8 people. Prizes awarded for top teams and best team names/themes.
