16 Days of Activism

The Zonta Club of Hamburg-Orchard Park was busy raising awareness of violence against women and girls during this period. The Advocacy Committee prepared displays for both the Hamburg and Orchard Park libraries and distributed orange window signs “Say No to Violence Against Women” to local businesses.  Information was also posted on our Facebook page.

We marched in the Holiday parade with our orange scarfs and hats and our beautiful new banner, “Say No to Violence Against Women.”  We received great support from the attendees.

There were also service opportunities. Molli Oldenburg, a member of the Buffalo Club requested 200 birthing kits for trips to Ghana and Belize for the UB School of Nursing.  Trish Tornabene from the Cheektowaga Club joined Peggy, Jenny and Judy to complete these kits.

We also had a request from Persons Against Trafficking of Humans, PATH of WNY to help them create gift bags for their Christmas Party. They created bags for survivors of human trafficking and their children.
