On Saturday, May 27th, a group of members from the Zonta Club of KW and friends gathered to assemble 1,100 Birthing Kits.

Thank you to all the assemblers as well as all of those members who helped prepare the supplies ahead of time. A special thanks to the Zonta Club of Stratford, who donated their unused Birthing Kit supplies for us to use, thus reducing our costs. 100 kits will go to physicians who travel for Doctors Without Borders, and 1,000 will be delivered to World Vision.

The most need right now is for Somalia and South Sudan, so we anticipate that is where they will be going. This is such a worthwhile project, and we have been told that only Zonta assembles Birthing Kits to be shipped through World Vision. So this is a project that will be needed far into the future.

Canadian Clubs, if you are looking for a worthwhile project, please consider Birthing Kits. While it can be a bit costly, consider partnering with other clubs to share the costs. World Vision and Doctors Without Borders are two excellent organizations in Canada who welcome our kits. If you have any questions, please let me know.
