This year’s International Women’s Day was celebrated by the sale of yellow roses at a breakfast event in support of the Women’s Centre Grey Bruce. The global theme #Accelerate Action spoke to empowering local women to tell their stories, featuring an author honouring her own and other women’s experiences to enable action towards gender equity. Despite the seemingly never-ending winter this year, several members were able to brave the elements to prepare the roses while another small but mighty group attended the early morning function on Friday, March 7th at the Best Western Inn on the Bay in Owen Sound. The IWD yellow rose fundraiser proceeds to the Women’s Centre Grey Bruce was in excess of $530.00.

Zonta of Owen Sound’s 26th Annual Ladies Golf Classic Charity Twilight Golf Tournament is ready for team registrations!
We have been fortunate for decades now to be supported in our biggest fundraiser by local businesses, community residents and Zonta members from across our District. With last year’s hugely successful 25th Annual Tournament having been sold out, you will want to register early to guarantee your spot for the 9 Hole Scramble, set for Thursday, June 12th at Legacy Ridge Golf Course in Owen Sound. Proceeds are in support of women and girls in need in our community. We hope you will join us for an afternoon that includes prizes, raffles, dinner and of course, fun on the course.
