Recently, the Zonta Club of Jamestown, whose mission is to build a better world for women and girls, held an EXPO to highlight the agencies and organizations within Chautauqua County that provide services to help and support those who may be abused or need strategies to prevent abuse in their lives. Information tables provided handouts and give-away items with contact information so attendees know who to contact if they need help for themselves or others. The EXPO also offered demonstrations and presentations that focused on making good choices and self-care.
EXPO: Special Guest Speaker, Brandy Kane, Project Crossroads (sponsored by the Jamestown Police Department), Child Advocacy Program, Wellness and Forensic Center, Prevention Works, Goodwill, Dr. Shelby Rauh from Southern Tier Family Dentistry, Chautauqua County Health Department, Salvation Army, Chautauqua Opportunities (DADS) and the YWCA.
One of the important outcomes of the event was the opportunity for local agencies and organizations to be together in one space where they could exchange ideas. Partnership and collaborations to provide more opportunities for individuals within the community to get the
services they need will lead to better outcomes for those who need support.
